ESG portfolio strategy

To achieve these objectives, Ashtrom Properties Germany has been conducting detailed portfolio analyses for each individual property. This process assesses the current status of each asset in relation to ESG criteria and ensures the long-term ESG compliance of the portfolio.

The charging infrastructure is actively being expanded in response to demand, and it will continue to grow in alignment with evolving requirements under the German Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Act (GEIG).

Moreover, the entire portfolio is certified under BREEAM In-Use. The company has set a target to achieve DGNB certification for all its buildings, with the goal of completing this initiative by 2028.

In light of the upcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which will come into effect in 2028, Ashtrom Properties Germany is advancing the digitalization and energy monitoring of its current database to ensure compliance with future reporting obligations.

Ashtrom Properties Germany also considers the asset-specific sustainability goals of its existing and future tenants, ensuring that the portfolio properties remain attractive and suitable for sustainable leasing. To support this, the company is increasingly incorporating green lease clauses into rental agreements. Additionally, tenant improvements are being utilized to implement rapid sustainability measures, and contracts are being established with service providers who uphold the same ESG standards.

The ongoing, portfolio-wide expansion of photovoltaic (PV) systems and other renewable energy sources will significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of Ashtrom Properties Germany’s assets in both the short and medium term. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to minimizing its environmental impact.
